MAT

Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is a standardised MBA entrance test, conducted since 1988 to facilitate Business Schools to shortlist candidates for admission to Management courses like MBA, PGDM etc. Govt. of India, Ministry of HRD, approved MAT as a national level test in 2003. Any B-School whether national or international, can accept MAT Score to shortlist candidates for its management program. Scorecard of MAT is accepted by 1000s of B-Schools across India.
The MAT Examination is conducted four times a year — once in every tri-semester. Earlier, it was administered in paper-pencil mode only. Now, it is conducted in Computer-based Test (CBT) mode along with paper-pencil mode.

Exam Pattern

The pattern of MAT exam has been consistent over the years. Questions in MAT come from areas like Mathematics, Data Interpretation and Data Sufficiency, Reasoning, Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, and General awareness. The area-wise break-down of questions in the exam is shown in the table below:

Admit Card for MAT exam is usually released a week before the exam on the official website of AIMA. The following table gives admit card release dates of May MAT.
