There are a few songs that you can listen to anytime and anywhere to simply boost your motivation power. Songs like: The Hall of Fame, The Nights, Superhero, Aashayein, Chak Lein De, Believer, Titanium are a few from my Personal Play-List. Apart from songs, use videos to bring out the real zeal in you to grab a seat in the Big IIMs. What sort of videos now?
The videos should be on IIMs, about IIMs or any B-School of your dream. Now, why are we asking you to watch videos about your Dream B-school?
This should be done to imagine the dream life in the B-school after you successfully crack CAT 2019. “Dream big, think high, work hard, start now.” Live the dream of being in your dream B-school every single day with the help of such videos. Yes! You read it right, we are asking you to collect a few pictures of the B-schools that you dream of entering. Once done, take coloured print outs of those B-school images and paste a few in your study-room. One on each wall. One in front of you while you sit for studying. You can even keep one picture in your note-book that you use for practice. What’s the idea behind it? Yes, that’s obvious! Aim is to surround your thoughts/ headspace, everything with just one AIM. This activity alone can boost your motivation multifolds. Applications! Yes, why not? The world around is getting digitized. Why can’t we make the best use of digital platforms, online stuff and e- learning. For your ease, we are listing a few Apps that you must have in your smart- phones to actually make them of smart use!
A. For motivation & saving the time that you normally waste- AppBlock and TimeUntil Apps.
B. For time-less Practice- EduThrill App. Read 06 reasons why you should use this gamified platform here.
C. For reading- The Hindu App. You must prepare excel sheets while you are preparing for CAT exam. This is to track your daily progress. You can also build your own strategies to prepare for CAT and crack the nut in one go! Eg. Shrijith, who scored a 96.67%ile in CAT 2018, personally started using a 15+15+15 days strategy for which he created an excel sheet. As per this, you have to take Sectional Tests for VARC for the first 15 days and record your scores and percentile every morning in your Strategy-Sheet. Next 15 days for LRDI Sectional Tests and last 15 days for QA Section. At the end of these 45 days, you’ll see a huge improvement in your scores.
This was just one. You can create your own strategy. You can maintain a Daily- Journal Sheet as well.
One thing to add. Try to paste a copy of this sheet in your study- room. This would motivate you each time your eyes get on these sheets. This one’s the last way for now, that can be used for boosting your motivation to prepare tremendously well for CAT. Every morning, use affirmations like; ‘I can make it happen!’, ‘I will transform myself in my best version every single day!’, ‘I can do anything & everything’, ‘No one can stop me from living my dreams!’, etc.
Within a few days, you’ll see the change that comes in your way of looking at things, living a beautifully happy life and a boosted motivation that’ll help you crack any entrance test. Hope this helps. You can modify any of these 5 ways to keep yourself motivated for CAT. These are the best ones if implemented by you in time. Stay motivated! Dream big and work hard! Good Luck for CAT 2019 & other MBA Entrance Exams!
